The Veterans Group - Philadelphia

Veterans are a particularly vulnerable segment of our population. While protecting our country, Veterans have encountered some of the most horrific experiences known to mankind. Their experiences have left some Veterans with post traumatic issues which are exhibited through symptoms of substance abuse, increased medical issues, and reduced life and coping skills. The statistics are staggering. According to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, only 7% of the general population can claim veteran status, but 20% of the male homeless population in the United States is comprised of Veterans. 51% of homeless Veterans have disabilities, while 50% suffer from serious mental illness and 70% have substance abuse problems.
